Eskilstuna-Kuriren with Strengnäs Tidning is looking for summer substitutes!

Eskilstuna-Kuriren with Strengnäs Tidning is the largest news media in our area. We work every day to create leading news coverage of Eskilstuna, Strängnäs, and Flen. During a summer substitute position with us, you will work in a creative environment and be involved in examining important societal issues and capturing local buzz. You will be part of the team from day one and have a bunch of engaged and helpful colleagues.

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment and interest in local journalism and a passion for telling stories that affect people's daily lives. You are curious, flexible, can immerse yourself in new issues, and actively work to ensure that your publications capture readers' interest.

This summer, we are looking for reporters focused on news and sports. As a reporter, your tasks will include generating ideas, writing articles, taking photos, live reporting, filming, and editing video material for our website and social media. We work with a digital focus and clear goals where readers are always at the center, so we would like you to be skilled at packaging your own material.

We offer you an independent job and highly value your own idea work and extensive network. We are also looking for reporters with sports expertise who are ready to cover, for example, football, running, and personal life stories related to the world of sports.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has or is studying a journalism degree or equivalent, or has equivalent work experience.
• Has a commitment to journalism and a desire to convey news that helps the audience in their daily lives.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment where tasks may be prioritized based on the news situation.
• Is curious, enjoys meeting new people, and is willing to learn new things.
• Has a good sense of language, can understand the angle, and convey a straightforward news story in text.
• Has basic knowledge of photography and film (with mobile and/or DSLR camera).
• Has knowledge of journalism such as interview techniques, research, information gathering, source criticism, and news packaging.

The substitutes may involve working hours during the day, evenings, and weekends. A B driver's license is required as driving is part of the job.
